The mission of the Hispanic Resource Center (HRC) is to serve the growing Hispanic community in Hackettstown and surrounding areas.
HRC is currently focused on maximizing the distribution of its Referral Data Base (RDB). This is a unique, Hispanic friendly, compilation of information on over 650
organizations in 45 categories.
The RDB in hard copy format is available at these locations in Hackettstown and elsewhere:
21 Fiestas, 7 th Day Adventist Church, Centenary University Library, Church of the Assumption, DASACC, Early/Head Start, El Tucan, First Presbyterian Church, FrutiMex, Global Union Multiservice, Hackettstown BID, Hackettstown Schools, Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown Library, Iglesia Cristiana Bethel, Iglesia Pentecostal Unida, Lucy’s Variedades, Main Street Café, Mayor’s Office, Norwescap, Pupuseria Los Veliz, Rico Pan, SizzleBBQ, Sunrise Convenience Store, Susy’s Laundromat, Taurus Grill, The Laundry Basket, Trinity Church, Warren County Department of Human Services, WIC Program, Willow Grove Laundromat, WRNJ, and Zufall Health Clinic.
If you are at one of these locations and there is no RDB, please e-mail Bob Howitt,
Chairman of the Hispanic Resource Center, at wkbj@att.net. He will provide a replacement RDB.
The RDB is available as an Excel spread sheet in a three-ring binder, in PDF format, and digitally here on this website. (Web version will launch soon.) Please make suggestions on how we can improve our formatting of the RDB. Information updating and corrections will be done consistently.
In time, when usage of particular categories within the RDB provides helpful information, workshops will be organized in collaboration with existing service providers.
The Hispanic Resource Center is a legally-recognized non-profit organization; contributions are tax-deductible. In addition, it has an Advisory Board.
HRC is seeking to add a Community Outreach person. He or she would be locally-based, bilingual and bicultural, and able to bring full-time passion to a part-time position. Compensation is negotiable.
