THERE IS A NEW ORGANIZATION IN HACKETTSTOWN. ITS INITIALS ARE HRC!

Q. What is HRC?
A. The Hispanic Resource Center of Northwest New Jersey.

Q. What is the mission of HRC?
A. The mission of HRC is to serve the growing Hispanic population of Hackettstown and surrounding areas of Northwest New Jersey.

Q. What does HRC do?
A. HRC has an extensive Referral Data Base. It includes organizations in every field. Our goal is to identify the Spanish-speaking contact in each organization so that when you have questions about almost anything, you know where to go for assistance.

Q. What else will HRC do?
A. In addition to the Referral Data Base, HRC will collaborate with existing organizations for specific activities of interest to the community. Representatives of those organizations will lead workshops at HRC. These will be advertised as to date and subject matter.

Q. Where is HRC located?
A. In Trinity House, 212 E. Moore Street in Hackettstown, 07840

Q. When will HRC open?
A. It will open September 2. After that, it will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8pm and Sundays from 2-5pm. It will be staffed by volunteers who have met the requirements of HRC.

Q. Who is the leader of HRC?
A. The Executive-Director of HRC is Gladys Kowalski and you can reach her at gk2022hrc@gmail.com or (908) 455-4924.

Q. Is HRC a business?
A. No. It is a federally designated 501c3 non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible. Bob Howitt is Chairman (wkbj@att.net; 973-537-1814), Carolina Poveda McCurdy
is Vice-Chairman and Secretary, and Daniela Velasquez is Treasurer.

Q. Are there other people involved?
A. Yes. There is a three-person Advisory Board – Eunice Boyd, Joe Fisher, and Hugo Almeida.

There is also a Supporters Group: organizations which agree to post information concerning HRC and its services. There is a Collaborating Partners group: social service agencies which currently provide assistance to the overall Northwest New Jersey community and which will be invited to lead different activities at HRC.

Q. Does HRC have a website?
A. HRCNWNJ.org. We are in the process of building it. There already is a “Contact Us” button; those using it will receive a rapid response from HRC. People may also contact the Executive-Director and the Chairman of the Board.

P. ¿Cuál es la misión de HRC?
R. La misión de HRC es servir a la creciente población hispana de Hackettstown y las áreas circundantes del noroeste de Nueva Jersey.

P. ¿Qué hace HRC?
R. HRC tiene una extensa base de datos de referencias. Incluye organizaciones en todos los campos. Nuestro objetivo es identificar el contacto de habla hispana en cada organización para que cuando tenga preguntas sobre casi cualquier cosa, sepa a dónde acudir para obtener ayuda.

P. ¿Qué más hará HRC?
R. Además de la Base de datos de referencias, HRC colaborará con organizaciones existentes para actividades específicas de interés para la comunidad. Los representantes de esas organizaciones dirigir talleres en HRC. Estos se anunciarán con respecto a la fecha y el tema.

P. ¿Dónde se encuentra HRC?

P. ¿Cuándo abrirá HRC?
R. Abrirá el 2 de septiembre. Después de eso, estará abierto los martes y jueves de 5 a 8 p. M. Y los domingos de 2 a 5 p. M. Estará integrado por voluntarios que hayan cumplido con los requisitos de HRC.

P. ¿Quién es el líder de HRC?

P. ¿HRC es una empresa?
R. No. Es una organización sin fines de lucro 501c3 designada por el gobierno federal. Las contribuciones son deducibles de impuestos. Bob Howitt es Presidente de la Junta (wkbj@att.net; 973-537-1814), Carolina Poveda McCurdy es Vicepresidente y Secretaria, y Daniela Velásquez es Tesorera.

P. ¿Hay otras personas involucradas?
A. Sí. Hay una Junta Asesora de tres personas: Eunice Boyd, Joe Fisher y Hugo Almeida.

También existe un Grupo de Colaboradores: organizaciones que aceptan publicar información sobre HRC y sus servicios. Existe un grupo de Socios Colaboradores: agencias de servicios sociales que actualmente brindan asistencia a la comunidad general del Noroeste de Nueva Jersey y que serán invitadas a liderar diferentes actividades en HRC.
